Consultancy Opportunity: SEC Licensing & Crowdfunding Compliance in Zambia

About the Consultancy Role
The successful candidate will take a hands-on, comprehensive approach to secure full regulatory approval and ensure operational readiness under Zambian law. This full-time consultancy requires managing the entire licensing process from application preparation to final approval, focusing on equity and debt crowdfunding compliance.
Key Responsibilities for This Consultancy Job in Zambia
- Manage the end-to-end execution of the SEC Zambia licensing process.
- Prepare, structure, and submit all necessary regulatory applications and documentation.
- Engage directly with SEC Zambia officials and maintain ongoing communication throughout the approval process.
- Design compliant equity and/or debt crowdfunding models aligned with regulatory frameworks.
- Advise on Companies Act restrictions related to public offerings, including structuring compliant entities such as SPVs or public entities.
- Implement Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) frameworks alongside investor protection measures.
- Develop governance, compliance, and risk management systems tailored to SEC requirements.
- Establish operational, reporting, and audit processes to meet regulatory standards.
- Facilitate entry into the SEC Regulatory Sandbox where applicable.
- Ensure ongoing readiness for full licensing and continuous regulatory compliance post-approval.
Candidate Requirements
- Demonstrated success in obtaining SEC Zambia licenses.
- Extensive knowledge of investment-based crowdfunding, including both equity and debt models.
- Strong understanding of Zambian financial regulations, the Companies Act, and SEC compliance frameworks.
- Experience implementing AML/KYC protocols, compliance systems, and regulatory reporting.
- Proven ability to take full ownership of projects and deliver results through to approval.
- Professional background in financial services, legal practice, fintech, or regulatory consulting.
Engagement Details and Location
This is a results-driven consultancy engagement, preferably milestone-based, located in Zambia. Candidates based in Lusaka or with strong local regulatory access will be highly favored.
