About the Chief Executive Officer / Registrar Role
The Chief Executive Officer / Registrar will serve as the principal executive and accounting officer of ZCILT, overseeing daily operations and ensuring compliance with the Institute’s governing Act. Reporting directly to the Council/Board, the successful candidate will lead the implementation of policies, manage institutional resources, and promote professional standards across the logistics and transport industry.
Key Responsibilities for CEO Registrar Jobs in Lusaka
- Implement the provisions of the Act and Council resolutions effectively.
- Develop, execute, and monitor the Institute’s strategic plan.
- Advise Council on policy, regulatory, and operational matters.
- Ensure full compliance with statutory and governance requirements.
- Serve as secretary to the Council in accordance with the Act.
- Develop accreditation frameworks and establish minimum curriculum standards for logistics and transport training institutions.
- Align training programs with industry demands and international benchmarks.
- Oversee professional examinations, certification schemes, and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements, ensuring mandatory compliance.
- Foster partnerships with universities, colleges, and international organizations.
- Conduct audits and monitor quality assurance of accredited institutions.
- Maintain a register of licensed professionals and enforce compliance monitoring.
- Supervise inspections, investigate complaints, and promote ethical professional conduct.
- Collaborate with law enforcement on issues of illegal practice.
- Represent ZCILT at national and international forums, enhancing regional and global collaborations.
- Mobilize research grants, technical assistance, and develop income-generating initiatives such as training centers and consultancy services.
- Oversee recruitment, supervision, and performance appraisal of staff, cultivating a culture of professionalism and accountability.

Qualifications and Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transport, Supply Chain, Legal, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Master’s degree in Logistics, Transport Management, Supply Chain Management, Legal Studies, or Business Administration is advantageous.
- Certification in corporate governance or regulatory compliance is a plus.
- Minimum of 8 years relevant post-qualification experience in logistics and transport management, with at least 5 years in senior management roles.
- Experience in senior management within professional bodies related to logistics, transport, or supply chain management is preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in regulatory enforcement, professional body administration, training accreditation, financial management, and institutional sustainability.
- Comprehensive knowledge of professional regulation frameworks and education accreditation systems.
- Membership of the Zambia Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (ZCILT) is mandatory.
