Role Overview – Butler Household Manager Jobs in Lusaka
The Butler / Household Manager will be responsible for the seamless management and coordination of daily household activities. This includes supervising domestic staff, maintaining household order, and delivering exceptional client service. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent organisational skills, confidentiality, and the ability to uphold a high level of hospitality within a private residence.
Key Responsibilities
- Household Management: Oversee the upkeep of the residence ensuring cleanliness, organisation, and maintenance standards are met.
- Staff Supervision: Manage domestic staff including cleaners, gardeners, cooks, drivers, and caregivers as applicable, coordinating schedules and daily tasks.
- Inventory Control: Monitor and replenish household supplies, maintaining accurate stock inventories.
- Client Service & Hospitality: Deliver professional butler services such as greeting guests, serving meals and drinks, preparing rooms for visitors or special events, and supporting household functions.
- Administrative Duties: Handle household budgets, petty cash, and approved expenditures. Maintain records of maintenance, repairs, and vendor contacts.
- Transportation & Errands: Conduct errands including shopping, collections, and deliveries. Ensure assigned vehicles remain clean, serviced, and safe.
- Caregiving Support: Provide basic caregiving assistance when needed, particularly for children, elderly, or individuals requiring support, coordinating with healthcare providers as necessary.
- Security & Confidentiality: Safeguard client privacy and property, monitor security measures, and promptly report any unusual incidents.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma in Hospitality Management, Caregiving, Housekeeping, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in hospitality, private household service, hotel operations, or a comparable role.
- Valid Driver’s Licence is an advantage.
- Possession of a valid passport is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
