As the Academic Head of School – Postgraduate Studies, you will provide visionary academic and administrative leadership to the School of Postgraduate Studies. Your role will encompass oversight of postgraduate teaching, research supervision, curriculum design, quality assurance, programme accreditation, and ensuring student success. You will also ensure compliance with both University policies and national regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage postgraduate teaching and research activities across the School.
• Supervise postgraduate student research and academic progress.
• Develop and enhance postgraduate curricula to meet academic and industry standards.
• Coordinate programme accreditation and maintain quality assurance frameworks.
• Promote student success through effective academic support and monitoring.
• Ensure compliance with University regulations and external regulatory bodies.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• A Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from a recognised institution.
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in university teaching and postgraduate supervision.
• At least three (3) years of academic leadership or management experience.
• Demonstrated research excellence with publications in peer-reviewed journals.
• Proven expertise in curriculum development, programme accreditation, and quality assurance processes.
• All academic and professional qualifications must be validated by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).
